Perlato del Bosco Vermentino 2025 review: herbs, not sea
Tua Rita's Vermentino costs €18.95 and promises a saline coastal edge. I found sage, rosemary and basil instead. What it delivers, and what it doesn't.

The cover letter promised salt. Perlato del Bosco Vermentino 2025, it said, carries the Tyrrhenian Sea in the glass: saline notes, tension, a surprisingly long finish. That is a lot to ask of a grape I usually open precisely so I don’t have to think.
I tasted it twice on camera to find out.
There from the start
Tua Rita made its name in Suvereto with red wine, above all Redigaffi, the Merlot Robert Parker scored 100. Perlato del Bosco predates that fame. Its first vintage is 1992, the year the estate began bottling its own wine. The estate’s backstory is in my overview of Tua Rita wines.
It is pure Vermentino, hand-picked, gently pressed, fermented cool and raised only in stainless steel. No oak, so the grape does all the talking. In Provence, the same variety goes by Rolle.
Tasting Note

Appearance
Medium lemon, a shade deeper than pale.
Nose
Textbook Vermentino. White flowers and a touch of jasmine, then apple, pear, peach and nectarine, with apricot further back. There is something perfumed about it, round and warm, and a herbal note behind that.
Palate
Dry without being austere, acidity sitting in the middle. Juicy fruit that never overdoes it. Then the herb garden: sage, rosemary, thyme, even a leaf of basil. A small bitter twist at the end keeps it sharp.
Finish
Medium length, clean and pure.
Quality
Not a wine to philosophise over. One to finish with pleasure. I’m a fan.
Where the glass and the letter part ways
Cellarmasters promises saline notes and pronounced minerality, in the letter and on its product page. I found neither, in either tasting. What I got was a herb garden, which is lovely, but it isn’t sea air.
The importer also mentions a surprisingly long finish. Mine was medium. If you want a white that keeps you busy for an hour, look further up the shelf.
The label is a painting of figures in loud reds and oranges. You’ll either love it or you won’t.

What the QR code on the back tells you

Scan it and you get the ingredients and nutrition that EU labelling rules now require: grapes, potassium metabisulphite as preservative, gum arabic as stabiliser, nitrogen at bottling. Per 100 millilitres, 80.3 kcal and zero grams of sugar, so dry means dry here.
The same label carries the Equalitas mark, an Italian certification covering the whole winery rather than a single bottle.
Worth €18.95?
That is roughly twice what a Tuscan supermarket white costs in the Netherlands, such as the Cecchi Lobelia I reviewed earlier, a blend with Vermentino in it. What the extra money buys is purity. The Lobelia is smooth and tropical; Perlato del Bosco is drier, more herbal and more precise.
In the Netherlands it is sold by Cellarmasters, and the code ONTDEKCM10 from the card in the box gives 10 percent off. I earn nothing from it.

Frequently asked questions
How much is Perlato del Bosco Vermentino and where can you buy it?
€18.95 at Cellarmasters, Tua Rita’s importer in the Netherlands. Price checked in September 2026.
Is Perlato del Bosco aged in oak?
No. Tua Rita raises it only in stainless steel, which keeps the freshness and fruit of the Vermentino up front.
