A bit of a sour cherry idea, without being sweet.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What I love about La Valentina&#8217;s approach shows immediately: &#8220;Not overly stewed fruit. Nice and spicy, a little tobacco, a little leather\u2014not too much, very elegant.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>My tasting notes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Incredibly juicy and fresh &#8211; perfect as an aperitif wine<\/li>\n<li>Beautiful depth and elegance despite being so approachable<\/li>\n<li>Fine tannin structure &#8211; not too heavy, not too sharp<\/li>\n<li>Made very gently &#8211; you can taste their careful approach<\/li>\n<li>Earthy undertones with wet leaves<\/li>\n<li>Not overly complex &#8211; just deliciously drinkable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;The acidity is perfect\u2014not too sour, not too tight, just incredibly delicious.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Price point: Around \u20ac8-10 &#8211; exceptional value at this quality level<\/p>\n<h2>Stepping Up: Spelt Riserva 2021<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;If you serve this, people will think you know about wine!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Moving to the Spelt Riserva (around \u20ac15-20), I immediately noticed the visual difference: &#8220;You can see this one is also noticeably darker.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The aromatic complexity jumps dramatically: &#8220;Much more ripe fruit, dark red fruit, black fruit, blackcurrants, blackberries, black cherries. Also nice leather, tobacco, rosemary, thyme\u2014real Italian herbs, sage. Also, something meaty, a bit of tomato leaf. Just really interesting, intriguing, nicely complex.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>My detailed tasting experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Very, very pleasant and soft &#8211; not sharp at all<\/li>\n<li>Perfect balance between tannins and acidity &#8211; both moderate<\/li>\n<li>No need for heavy food pairing &#8211; delicious on its own<\/li>\n<li>Serve slightly chilled &#8211; really enhances the experience<\/li>\n<li>Cocoa, leather, tobacco, and cigar boxes on the palate<\/li>\n<li>Beautiful red and black fruit with those signature brambles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;Price-quality ratio? Super!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This wine shows serious winemaking while maintaining La Valentina&#8217;s approachable, elegant style that I love so much.<\/p>\n<h2>The Pinnacle: Bellovedere 2020<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;Wow, what is this? This smells fantastic, but this is more and more and more&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The moment I encountered Bellovedere (\u20ac40-50), everything changed. My reaction was immediate: &#8220;It&#8217;s like listening to music where everything is perfectly tuned. Super tight, you hear every note.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>My awe-struck reaction: &#8220;Incredibly deep in color&#8230; lots of red fruit, also some citrus fruit, lots of herbs. I really like that you have an herb bouquet. Lots of tobacco, lots of cocoa. Also nice dried fruit, wet leaves. A bit of wet forest floor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The tasting revelation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lots of warmth with lovely tannins<\/li>\n<li>Structured wine, well-balanced<\/li>\n<li>Very soft in the mouth despite incredible complexity<\/li>\n<li>Enormous complexity happening &#8211; layer upon layer<\/li>\n<li>Pure and clean &#8211; beautifully fruit-driven<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What I find most interesting: &#8220;Especially when you can taste all three at the same time, you really taste the identity of La Valentina winery. Soft, elegant, nicely rounded. But you also taste lots of fruit. Really beautiful fruit-driven, very pure, very clean.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I also noticed this comes in the traditional heavy Italian bottle, while La Valentina has moved to lighter, more sustainable packaging for their other wines\u2014showing their commitment to environmental responsibility.<\/p>\n<h2>My Conclusion: Discovering La Valentina&#8217;s House Style<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;You really taste the identity of La Valentina winery.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This comparative tasting revealed something profound about La Valentina&#8217;s approach.
