It’s crafted by Bodegas Aguiuncho, a winery tucked away in the Saln\u00e9s Valley, boasting the region’s highest concentration of vineyards. In 1999, the father-son team of Manuel Troncoso Poceiro and Manuel Troncoso Prieto launched this exciting venture. Their mission? To produce exceptional wine by blending traditional methods with cutting-edge technology. Their state-of-the-art facility can produce around 150,000 bottles annually. Their wines beautifully showcase the local terroir\u2014the soil, climate, and grapes all contribute to the wine’s distinctive flavor, with the winemakers’ expertise adding that extra special touch.<\/p>\n

The 2022 Mar de Ons is a young wine fermented in stainless steel tanks under the control of D.O. R\u00edas Baixas. Made from 100% Albari\u00f1o grapes, it has an alcohol content of 13% ABV\u2014neither too heavy nor too light. The beautiful blue bottle looks stunning, but hey, it’s the inside that counts. When you pour it, it’s light golden in color with a little green rim. The aromas are delightful\u2014you’ll find lots of aromatic herbs, bay leaves, fresh hints of anise and menthol, along with fruity notes of green apple, lemon zest, lime, and grapefruit. The palate is bursting with fruity flavors: green apple, lemon zest, lime, and grapefruit. Those aromatic herbs make another appearance\u2014rosemary, thyme, bay leaf, anise, and menthol\u2014making it extra fresh. It has medium-plus acidity with lots of minerals and wet stone that bring back those sea vibes. The full body and smooth structure end with a medium finish, offering a nice sea breeze and enjoyable freshness. It’s just lovely and transports me back to a nice summer day at the beach, on the water, or just relaxing in the sun.<\/p>\n
